Every nurse, caregiver, therapist and grooming professional working through BOMACARE agrees to abide by this Code.
1. Put the person first
- Treat every care recipient with dignity, kindness and respect, regardless of age, gender, religion, tribe, disability or means.
- Listen, explain and obtain consent before every procedure.
2. Practise within your scope
Provide only care you are trained, licensed and authorised to provide. Escalate anything beyond your scope through the BOMACARE coordinator.
3. Timekeeping and appearance
- Arrive on time, in the BOMACARE uniform (where issued), with your ID badge visible.
- Communicate proactively if you will be late or need to reschedule.
4. Safeguarding
Report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of any client — child or adult — to the BOMACARE safeguarding lead within 24 hours.
5. Confidentiality
Never discuss a client's identity, home, condition or family with third parties or on social media. Photographs and recordings require BOMACARE approval and client consent.
6. Conflicts of interest
- Do not accept private cash tips, loans or gifts of significant value.
- Do not solicit clients for private engagement outside the BOMACARE platform.
- Declare any prior personal relationship with a client.
7. Health, safety and infection control
Follow standard precautions, PPE guidance and safe-lifting practices. Do not attend a visit if you have a transmissible illness — notify the coordinator so cover can be arranged.
8. Zero tolerance
Theft, intoxication on duty, physical or sexual misconduct, and fraudulent record-keeping result in immediate termination and, where appropriate, report to regulators and law enforcement.
9. Continuous improvement
Participate in supervision, training and case reviews as scheduled.
