BOMACARE is not an emergency service. If you or someone in your care is in a life-threatening situation, call 999 in Kenya immediately, or go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
1. What counts as an emergency
- Difficulty breathing, choking, or loss of consciousness.
- Chest pain, sudden weakness, slurred speech or facial droop (possible stroke).
- Severe bleeding, major trauma, or serious burns.
- Suspected poisoning, drug overdose or severe allergic reaction.
- Suicidal thoughts, self-harm or acute mental-health crisis.
2. Useful numbers (Kenya)
- General emergency: 999 or 112.
- Police: 999 / 112.
- Kenya Red Cross: 1199.
- St John Ambulance: 0721 225 285.
3. What we can do
We can arrange a scheduled home visit, share information with your treating doctor with your consent, and — for existing care recipients — help coordinate a hospital transfer. We cannot replace an ambulance response.
4. After an emergency
Once the person is stable and discharged, BOMACARE can arrange post-hospital home nursing, wound care, physiotherapy and caregiver support.
