BOMACARE provides home-based care — nursing visits, caregiver support, therapy at home, elderly and dementia care, and grooming — delivered by vetted independent professionals.
1. Not a substitute for hospital care
Our services complement but do not replace hospital, ICU or specialist consultant care. Where a condition exceeds home-care safety, we will advise transfer to an appropriate facility.
2. Scope of practice
- Nurses provide care within the scope of practice authorised by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Caregivers provide non-clinical support (personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, companionship, light housekeeping directly related to care).
- Physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other specialists operate within their respective regulatory bodies.
3. No diagnosis over messaging
Advice given over chat, WhatsApp or phone is general and does not constitute a diagnosis. A clinical assessment requires a visit.
4. Medication
Our professionals administer medication that has been prescribed by a licensed prescriber. We do not prescribe. Bring valid prescriptions to every visit that involves medication.
5. Reasonable-care standard
Care is delivered with the reasonable skill and care expected of a competent professional in Kenya. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
6. Environmental limits
Some interventions require a safe environment (space, light, running water, working lift for wheelchair users, etc.). Where the environment is unsafe, the professional may adjust or reschedule the visit.
